WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

CONFESSION: We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and receive Him as our Lord and Savior.

MINISTRY: We share ministry, under the authority of Christ, among clergy and lay men and women.

PRACTICE: We receive the Lord's supper every Sunday, which is open to all who follow Jesus. We practice baptism by immersion following a confession of faith.

GOVERNANCE: Congregationally governed. We are connected by covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Christian Church in Ohio.

history

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) was founded in 1862, just as the town of Wauseon was taking shape along the newly built railroad that connected the East to Chicago in the midst of the Civil War.

From the beginning, the congregation has been devoted to a simple faith, marked by the Good Confession: "We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and we accept him as our Lord and Savior."

We have, for nearly 160 years, been a congregation that loves God by loving one another, and loving and serving our neighbors, our community, and our world.

We hope YOU will discover what it means to follow Jesus together with us!
